Home / About Us / FAQ’s What portion of the $26 a month will go directly to supporting the translation effort?
OneVerse works hard to keep costs low and to be a good steward of our resources. 81% of OneVerse gifts are used directly for Bible translation expenses, including 10% used to start or sustain existing translation projects and activities with 19% being used for administration, operations and communication. If any residual funding exists at the end of the translation project, it will be used for similar translation projects to help additional people groups receive the Scriptures. As a member of the Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability we follow high standards of Christian ethics in all our financial transactions.

Is the cost of translation the same in every country?
No. Because of the higher level of involvement of nationals in some languages as well as the cost of living and working in other languages, the cost of translation does vary from country to country. OneVerse averages the costs across all language groups that we serve. This allows us to fully meet the financial needs of every language group.

Can a verse really be translated for $26?
Yes. Within the context of a language project, and because of partnerships that The Seed Company has with other ministries who actually provide infrastructure, support and education, the actual activities of the stated translation process can be done for $26 per verse. Many sponsors choose to give more each month by sponsoring more than one verse or giving a special one time gift.

How long is the translation process?
The average New Testament translation process is on average 8 years. We ask you to consider being involved for the duration of the translation project. We want you to feel connected to the people that will receive the Scriptures and see how your support is being used. That is why we’ve added monthly updates online so you can hear their prayer requests, follow the process and praise God for the changed lives!

What makes The Seed Company/One Verse unique?
By partnering with national translators we are able to accelerate Bible translation at a reduced cost. Our organizational partners (Wycliffe/SIL, JESUS film, American Bible Society, Faith Comes By Hearing, local churches and denominations) are committed to working together for the glory of God. We are humbled at how God has positioned us with His purposes and are seeing great fruit. We anticipate seeing every language having a portion of Scripture in our lifetime!

Can I write or visit my sponsored translation project?
Because some projects are in sensitive areas of civil unrest and political and religious persecution, we are not able to always disclose the location or real name of the people/country.  However, we do have contact with the national translators and consultants and would be happy to pass on messages from you to them.  You will hear how they are doing on a monthly basis either on-line or with your monthly giving statement.
